Workshop Foreman

Job Description

The Workshop Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring the efficient and timely completion of all repairs and maintenance work on vehicles. They will manage a team of mechanics and technicians, assigning tasks and providing guidance as needed. The Workshop Foreman will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work environment, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in working order.

Key Responsibilities:

– Supervise and coordinate the activities of workshop staff, including mechanics and technicians
– Assign tasks and provide guidance to ensure that work is completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards
– Monitor workflow and identify opportunities for process improvements
– Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job
– Ensure that all vehicles are repaired and maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications
– Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify any issues or potential problems
– Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to
– Provide training and development opportunities for workshop staff
– Manage inventory and order parts as needed
– Monitor and track key performance indicators, such as productivity and efficiency

Minimun Requirements

    Previous experience working in an automotive workshop, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
    - Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and components
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    - Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure
    - Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team
    - Proficient in computer software, including MS Office and workshop management systems
    - Valid driver's license
